Maccabees miss top album spot

Despite being top of the midweeks the band's new album Given To The Wild only managed number four reports xfm.co.uk.

The Maccabees came in after Bruno Mars, Adele and Ed Sheeran, whos all got a BRITs nominations sales boost.

Elsewhere, The Vaccines climbed 10 places to Number Six - one of the favourites for the Xfm New Music Award.

Speaking to Xfm last week The Maccabees said they knew they could do better than their previous album.

"We're proud of Wall of Arms, really happy with it and glad of where it got us but we knew immediately as soon as we finished it that we could do more," Felix confessed to Xfm's John Kennedy.

"There are a few songs on the record that I think the rest of the record might not have matched."
