The first of the Grinderman remixes has been released. Nick Zinner from Yeah Yeah Yeahs 'Bellringer Blues' is our first taste of the upcoming 'Grinderman 2 RMX' remix album.

Nick Cave announced the demise of Grinderman late last year at the Meredith Festival outside Melbourne but fans will be treated to one more album, this remix album.

About Zinner's remix of 'Bellringer Blues', Grinderman said 'it shits all over the original'.

'Grinderman 2 RMX' will include Queens of the Stone Age's Josh Homme's remix of 'Micky Bloody Mouse' and Matt Berninger from The National reinventing 'Evil' with Grinderman's Jim Sclavunos.

The 'Grinderman 2 RMX' album will be released on March 23.

Portico Quartet have teamed up with Soundcloud to celebrate the upcoming release of their new album 'Portico Quartet' out 30th January 2012 by inviting the world to remix their phenomenal album track 'Steepless' which features singer-songwriter Cornelia.

The Mercury nominated East London based outfit's unique music has expanded to embrace new sonic territories on their third album release. Drawing on the inspiration of electronica, ambient, classical and dance music they take their strange, beautiful, cinematic, future music to exciting new vistas where the inspiration of Burial, Mount Kimbie and Flying Lotus rubs shoulders with the textures of Arve Henriksen and Bon Iver and echoes of Steve Reich and Max Richter.

Portico Quartet are encouraging fans and newcomers to their music the chance to remix 'Steepless', a track from their upcoming self titled album. Uniquely for them the track features a vocal collaboration, with East London based Swedish singer, Cornelia, whom they met through their friend Jamie Woon.

First prize includes a Pro SoundCloud account worth over £200 (courtesy of SoundCloud.com), all 3 Portico Quartet Vinyl LP releases, a limited edition EP and a pair of tickets to one of their upcoming gigs (excluding festivals). Two runners up will receive a Soundcloud Lite account and a copy of the new album.

Sons And Daughters follow up their Silver Spell / Optimo remix package with a second 12' released on February 20th.

This time round they focus on Orion, taken from their latest album Mirror Mirror, which was afforded universal critical acclaim on release last year and described by Q as 'a creative rebirth'.

The 12' features 3 mixes kicking off with the Emperor Machine Remix, the solo project of Andy Meecham from Chicken Lips. Next up psychedelic occultist Umberto giving it some strange brew with his mix, and wrapping up the package are Glaswegian Djs Wrong Island with their own particular take on the track.

Sons And Daughters ended on 2011 on a high, playing alongside Primal Scream at Edinburgh's Hogmanay celebrations.
