Aretha Franklin calls off wedding

Aretha Franklin has cancelled her engagement to long time friend William 'Willie' Wilkerson.

The 69-year-old singer released a statement today saying there had been a change in plan and they were no longer planning on tying the knot this summer.

It was just three weeks ago that the Queen of Soul made the announcement she was going to wed for the third time but already those arrangements are on hold.

'Regretfully, To Our Friends and Supporters: Will and I have decided we were moving a little too fast,' she wrote.

'There were a number of things that had not been thought through thoroughly. There will be no wedding at this time.'

'We will not comment on it any further because of the very personal and sensitive nature of it. We appreciate all of the many well wishes from friends.'

Aretha is notoriously private about her personal life and rarely speaks about her relationships.

But she told Jet magazine in 2007 that she and Will were longtime friends.

'Will and I are very close,' she said. 'We stayed close and he escorts me on occasion and we're just cool. We're real cool.'

The wedding would have been the third marriage for the Chain of Fools singer having previously been married to Ted White for eight years.

Following their split in 1969 she married Glynn Turman in 1978 but they divorced six years later.

Ozzy Osbourne won't sing at his son Jack's wedding.

Ozzy's daughter Kelly Osbourne explained that the kind of rock the Black Sabbath lead singer would perform isn't suitable for the romantic nuptials.

Kelly's sibling is expected to wed fiancée Lisa Stelly this year after a whirlwind romance. The couple got engaged after only four months and announced Lisa's pregnancy shortly after.

"No," Kelly told US publication E! Online when asked if her dad would sing at the happy event. "I don''t really think rock music is quite appropriate for a wedding!'

The 27-year-old can't contain her excitement and wells up every time she sees her younger brother.

Kelly is incredibly proud that Jack has turned his life around after struggling with addiction.

The 26-year-old has been sober since 2003. Before his stint at rehab, Jack went into a downward spiral consuming drink and taking OxyContin pills.

"He makes fun of me because every time I''m around him I get teary eyed now," the Fashion Police host admitted. "He''s like, ''Stop it! Go Away. Stop being dramatic. Get out of my face.'' Because I''m like, 'I''m so proud of you. You''re moving into a new house. You''re getting married. You''re having a baby. You have the most amazing fiancée ever!''

Seal still wearing wedding ring

Seal was pictured wearing his wedding band yesterday hours after his separation from Heidi Klum was announced.

The British pop singer visited a recording studio in Los Angeles with his ring still prominently placed on his left hand.

The 48-year-old looked solemn but seemed focused on work as he continues the promotional tour for his new album Soul 2 that is released in the US this week.

Seal and Heidi's shock announcement came yesterday and they said in their statement that they had split because they had 'grown apart'.

The couple are parents to Leni, seven, from Heidi's previous relationship, Henry, six, Johan, five, and two-year-old daughter Lou.

TMZ had reported that Heidi, 38, became worried about Seal's 'inability to control his temper' and it was also claimed she was tired of his 'hard partying'.

Britney Spears is planning a 'tropical' wedding at the end of the summer.

The singer got engaged to Jason Trawick in December and is hoping to tie the knot with him later this year.

She has been married twice before so contrary to previous reports has decided against having a lavish party and instead wants it to be small but special.

'It's going to be a very intimate wedding with only immediate family and very, very close friends,' a source told RadarOnline.com.

'It will probably be a destination wedding in a very warm, tropical location. There is absolutely no drama with the planning of the wedding and Britney will probably wear an off-white dress that will show off her killer bod. Britney's sons are absolutely going to be a part of the ceremony as ring bearers, and Jason has something very special planned for the boys that will take place during the wedding.'

The site also claimed the pair are planning to marry before the warm summer months end.

It's previously been claimed the music superstar wants her nuptials to have a country theme. She was thought to be considering tying the knot in her hometown of Kentwood, Louisiana, and hoped to achieve a relaxed vibe.

'She wants a traditional Southern-style wedding with comfort food, surrounded by her family, her two sons and all of her childhood friends, as opposed to a Hollywood wedding,' an insider claimed last year.
